Houston Grand Opera premieres "Another City"

New opera based on real stories of homelessness
In 2019, CFTH staff talked to a librettist and a composer who were working on an opera about homelessness in Houston. On March 9, Houston Grand Opera (HGO) held the world premiere of that new opera, "Another City."
To mark the premiere of the show, CFTH President and CEO Mike Nichols was invited to write a guest post for HGO's blog.
As lead agency to The Way Home Continuum of Care (CoC), CFTH is working with local governmental entities to advocate on behalf of people experiencing homelessness to ensure their needs are being considered as winter weather affects our region. While our system has helped thousands of people move from homelessness to housing, this year’s results highlight the need to broaden our approach.
This event kicked off a new season of CFTH Presents, bringing the community together for a discussion on the intersection of homelessness, recovery, and housing .
