Other Ways to Give
Donor Advised Funds
Many donors choose to support our mission through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF). To make a gift, simply contact your DAF provider and recommend a grant to Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County (EIN: 76‑0257018).
We’d appreciate it if you include your name and address so we can personally thank you and share the impact your generosity makes.
Gifts of Stock
Donating appreciated stock is a simple way to support CFTH and may offer tax benefits. Most transfers happen electronically and can be completed quickly through your broker.
To make a stock gift, please contact Katina Baldwin, Senior Director of Development, at katina.baldwin@cfthhouston.org to receive accurate account information.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (IRA Giving)
If you are age 70½ or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), also known as an IRA charitable rollover, is a simple and tax-efficient way to support CFTH.
A QCD allows you to give directly from your IRA to a qualified charity like CFTH without paying income tax on the distribution. For many donors, this gift can help lower taxable income and may count toward a required minimum distribution, if applicable.
To get started, contact your IRA provider and designate Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County as the recipient.
Planned Giving
Planned gifts help create long-term solutions to homelessness and ensure lasting impact for our community.
Ways to give include:
- Including Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County (CFTH) in your will or living trust
- Naming Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County (CFTH) as a beneficiary of an IRA, 401(k), or life insurance policy
You can work with your attorney or financial advisor to document your plans. If you’ve already included CFTH in your estate plans, please let us know so we can thank you and recognize your commitment.
In‑Kind Gifts
In‑kind donations support our street outreach team as they connect with individuals experiencing homelessness. Needs change regularly, so we encourage you to review our current wish list through Volunteer Houston: Coalition for the Homeless (CFTH) of Houston/Harris County | Volunteer Houston
If you have questions about any of these options, our team is happy to help. Every way you give supports our shared goal of making homelessness in our region rare, brief, and non‑recurring.
